Introduction

Millions of photographs are purchased every day for use in publications, websites, TV ads and documentaries, and for many other uses. These images are of almost any subject, and the buyers are often looking to source images quickly and easily. FotoLibrary are constantly looking for people who shoot photographs of all types of subjects to become a contributing photographer. It should be noted that we are not only looking for professional photographers, in fact we are accepting photographs from anyone who uses a high quality digital camera, and can upload their images via the internet.

How do I start?

You start by registering as a contributing photographer. This is done by completing the photographer's signup form
After you have completed the photographer's registration, FotoLibrary's admin will process the request and you will normally receive notification within 24 hours that you can begin to contribute your photos.

What photos will I choose to contribute?

Almost any subject matter is OK for stock images, but you must remember that  the object of the exercise is to sell photos, and that means that for your images to be chosen, they must appeal to either a target audience, or a general audience.
Photos for a target audience. An example of this might be tourism photos of your particular  area. These images might generate quite good sales from tourism operators, real estate agents, business houses in that particular area, as long as they know that those photos are in FotoLibrary, and are available. Another target audience might be images for the building industry, which then would need to be marketed to that sector specifically.
Photos for a general audience. General audience images are more common, and represent  almost anything that can be photographed. The photos need to be very good quality, well exposed, sharp and with good subject matter, but it is often a mistake to think that the best selling photos are the finest artistic images. It is quite often the opposite. Photos that sell are ones that will illustrate what a graphic artist / designer / business is trying to portray.

NOTE : THE PHOTOS AT RIGHT ARE ACTUAL EXAMPLES OF VERY HIGH SELLING IMAGES-->>

Photographers can contribute their images to FotoLibrary as a means to earn income, but FotoLibrary is somewhat different to most other stock image libraries in some subtle but very significant ways.
